Integrating ICT in Learning
Role of ICT in 21st century skills development:
1-Building teacher capacity
- Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
- Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
- Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
- Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices.
- Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.
2-Building youth capacity:
- Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.
- Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.
- Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.
- Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
Teachers interpret learning objectives daily, injecting their own creativity by:
- using innovative activities that involve students in the learning.
- varying learning methods to accommodate all types of learners
- spiraling and pacing the content to build up the learning over time
- creating variation in learning activities to maintain student interest and engagement
- making learning relevant and connecting it to the reality of their students
- introducing ICT into the classroom to engage students and enhance their learning experience .
Learning approaches link to 21st century skills development based on the 4Cs:
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Critical thinking
- Creativity
When students learn through online, it is called :
Blended learning is when a student learns through online delivery of content and instruction and through face-to-face classroom instruction.
Flipped classroom is a form of blended learning in which students learn new content online by watching video lectures, usually at home.
In addition, problems and tasks usually assigned as homework is now done in class with the teacher offering more personalized guidance and interaction with students, instead of lecturing.

Activity Planning Wheel:
In this wheel you can find the Six levels of Bloom’s taxonomy:
- Knowledge
- Comprehension
- Application
- Analysis
- Synthesis
- Evaluation / Creation
This wheel present the levels of Bloom’s taxonomy with the suitable tool that can be used to apply it. So you can choose the suitable tool to introduce your activities.
